Alex Langstone poetry


Lucifer Bridge is the debut poetry collection by local Tredethy author Alex
Langstone
. This anthology contains many poems with Cornish
themes. The language, culture and folklore of Cornwall are explored
in verse with similar themes explored from other areas of Britain. The
author has studied the folklore and landscape mysteries of Britain
for many years and has previously written about these themes in
books, magazines and online. The book also includes original artwork
by local artist Paul Atlas-Saunders, plus art by Yuri Leitch and Jim
Kirkwood.
Lucifer Bridge is an exclusive limited edition, signed and numbered
by the author.

Table-top sale

ST MABYN PRE-SCHOOL is holding a table-top sale on Saturday, February 12th.
The event will run from 1pm to 4pm in St Mabyn Village Hall and will include local crafts, cakes and jumble. Tables are £7 each, with the fee going to the pre-school.

A MEETING of St Mabyn Parish Council will be held on

Eligibility Criteria:
You need to be registered with Cornwall Homechoice and demonstrate that you have strong local connections to the areas listed below. Strong local connections could include EITHER living in the parish of St Mabyn for the last 3 years, OR living in the parish of St Mabyn for 5 continuous years in the past, OR having permanent employment in the Parish for at least the the past 3 years, OR having a close family member that has been living in the parish for at least 5 years, and where there is a caring responsibility for that relative.

1st Priority: St Mabyn
2nd Priority: St Kew, St Tudy, Egloshayle, Helland, Blisland
3rd Priority: County Connection

How do I apply?
These properties will be allocated through the Homechoice scheme. Please call 0300 1234 161, go online or call in, in person at the One Stop Shop in Wadebridge if you require any further information on how to apply for one of the above properties.

Relevant properties will be advertised for bidding purposes on Saturday
22nd January 2011 in the Western Morning News and the Cornwall
Homechoice website.

Bidding closes at 5.00pm on Wednesday 26th January 2011

Salt Delivery

The Parish Council has purchased a ton of salt for
gritting, it is located outside the gates of the Playing
Field.
It is for the use of all Parishioners – bring a bag and
fill it; sprinkle it on your drive ways and outside
your gates. (See CC advise on the subject on the
Parish Notice Boards).

St Mabyn Pre School are having a table top sale on Saturday 12th February from 1-4pm in the village hall. Tables cost £7. Anything can be sold on the tables from home made crafts, cakes or it is a great way to clear out general unwanted items after Christmas and make some money. St Mabyn Garden Club

January meeting at 7.30pm St Mabyn Hall on Wednesday 12 January 2011.  The speaker is Elizabeth Reeves talking on Plant Hunters of the past.  This is about the intrepid explorers who travelled the world to gather and bring back new and exotic plants.
William Lobb a local Cornishman is one of the most famous.  Should be a very interesting evening.
