ST MABYN PLAYERS’ SECOND COMEDY EXTRAVAGANZA

Our 'Girls' looked absolutely stunning in their new costumes at rehearsal last night. They will not disappoint - a real 'legfest' that did every one of them justice! Last year's show was hard to beat but those lucky enough to get a ticket for our forthcoming Extravaganza will definitely not be disappointed! This show is gonna be talked about for all the right reasons...!

A limited number of tickets remain for EXTRAVAGANZA which will take place in St Mabyn Village Hall on 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th December at 7.30pm. The cost of tickets remains at £7.50, which will include a delicious pasty supper, followed by a dessert and tea and coffee. Tables for eight will, as usual, be laid out cabaret style and may be booked in advance. Over 18s are welcome to bring their own alcohol. The Players’ hilarious 2011 show was a three night sell out and was very well received by extremely appreciative audiences. Tony Dickinson, Producer, Director and performer, has worked tirelessly to ensure that the Players 2012 show maintains the previous high standard that received standing ovations at every performance. Not surprisingly, tickets sales are heavy and early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. Enquiries and tickets, please contact Audrey Cooke 01208 841607 (audreycooke@live.com)

ST MABYN GARDEN CLUB

Members of St Mabyn Garden Club were entertained at their November meeting by Lorraine Turnbull who gave a very interesting and informative talk with slides on growing apple and pear trees.  Lorraine advised that bare rooted young trees are the best to buy as pot-grown ones are inclined to have roots  that have twisted around each other in the pot and also become dried out.
Lorraine is a fan of Cornish apples, and there are many varieties that come from Cornwall. She was also very impressed by the large and unblemished pear that our chairman John Lobb had picked from his garden to show us. After a question and answer session tea and biscuits were served.

Don't forget our Christmas Party is 7.15pm December 5th (a week earlier than our normal meetings) at he Village Hall. Moor Harmony will be entertaining us and also John's Quiz which we all look forward to.  Please bring a plate of savoury of sweet food.

Just a reminder, our New Year meeting is Wednesday 9th January at 7.30 in the Village Hall.  Our speaker will be Henry Kendall on 'Bees and Honey'.
